    Nazareth, Israel.

    Various street scenes in Nazareth. Weizmann Institute of Science. Institution for Agricultural Research. Various shots of people working on the land and students being given instruction about soil, farming, harvests etc.

    Narrator talks of how the land has been neglected for a long time and Israelis will have to work hard for Israel to achieve economic independence. A man called Abraham Shapiro (sp?) is featured. He was one of the earliest settlers here and worked hard to make fruit grow.

    Narrator speaks of irrigation systems as "lifelines of the land". We see the systems in operation. More shots of oranges. The "fruits of the struggles of nature waged by the pioneers". Workers are seen on a kibbutz harvesting fruit. A young couple who live on a kibbutz are featured as the narrator tells us the philosophy of a kibbutz as we see the young couple and their child. Shots of lots of children at the kibbutz childcare nursery.

    Traditional dancing display by young teenagers. Fruit Harvest Festival. Shots of dancers and audiences. Narrator talks of the big opportunities that are available to young people in this new nation. Joseph - a crane driver in Israel is an immigrant. We see him at work s the narrator states, "The fruit goes out and the immigrants come in." A ship brings more new workers to Haifa. People on the quayside wait to greet new immigrants from North Africa. C/Us of some of the people waiting for friends or relatives.

    Narrator sings the praises of Israel and all the opportunities it offers to the accompaniment of majestic music.
