Various shots show a May carnival procession passing through a town; teenagers in costumes carry large pom-poms, followed by a brass band. Children in black face tow a large shoe on wheels carrying several more children in white bonnets. A small boy sits in a little car (made from a pram) with a banner over the top reading 'The Knuts-Ford!'. Lines of young girls prance past, tapping tambourines as the crowds lining the street look on.
In a field, a young girl in white, the May Queen, walks from a platform, followed by pageboys holding her train and two lesser 'queens' carrying flowers. A large crowd watches from a spectator stand in the background; more people stand around the edges of the field. L/S and M/S of the girl in white, sitting on her 'throne' under a canopy, as a young boy in a kilt places a crown on her head. Flower girls sit at her feet. Another young boy climbs up the steps to her throne and holds her hand.
