I believe this is raw footage for newsreel "Was It Your Idea Of A Holiday? - How They Spent Whitsun (1947)", final cut available on the Pathe YouTube channel.
The hikers (including my Dad) were collared for filming in the grounds of Leam Hall Youth Hostel in Derbyshire as they left in the morning bound for Stanage Edge. The steep climb overlooking a track is possibly above the driveway between Leam Hall and the Grindleford/Hathersage road, marked Sheriff Wood on the OS Map. The YouTube version references Grindleford in the commentary.
It looks like my Dad in the still at 1m55, the first full person in the shot, not used in the final newsreel.
