Nurses demonstrate techniques to help children breath better.
These appear to be out takes from a finished documentary. See *PM3309*.
A Nurse shows a mother how to tap the back of her son who looks on. She demonstrates on a pillow. The nurse is then seen tapping the backs young children and babies. About a dozen children are seen in a small gymnasium, some are playing with toys others are hanging from a climbing frame. A nurse is gripping a young girl around the neck and pummelling near her shoulders, when she stops the girl coughs, and spits up mucous.
More tapping techniques are demonstrated on pillows and then on the backs of babies and small children. A large diagram showing the lungs is used to demonstrate connections to breathing tubes. A boy breaths from an oxygen mask. A young girl is having a massage around her rib cage, she then breaths deeply and feels her ribs moving. A young girl and boy laying down with a plastic cup on their stomachs watch it rise and fall as they breath.
Two small girls practice arm swinging techniques, and some tiny children play "Blowing" games with cotton wool and bubbles. We see more massaging techniques, and the same small boy breathing from a face mask attached to a "Mark 8 respirator". More diagrams of lungs and back tapping with the children laying on a mattress with their heads lower than their bodies.
