MS. Margaret Lockwood receiving her Daily Mail Film Award for the best actress from Lady Rothermere - Lady Rothermere warns Margaret Lockwood that statue is heavy and nasty. MS. Margaret Lockwood talking from platform - natural sound. She thanks for the award, great honour - she have won the award for the second year in accession, she thanks the audience. She sits down and Lord Rothermere announces that the second award goes to Mr Herbert Wilcox, producer of the film 'Piccadilly Incident'. He talks for a bit about Mr Wilcox' work. Lady Rothermere presents Herbert Wilcox with the award - applause. He addresses the audience - natural sound. He thanks those involved with production of the film and they are thrilled to have won the award etc. He points out his personal reason for winning the award, to give full credit to his co-producer on the film Miss Anna Neagle. He then, talks a bit about the film and gives special credit to top star of the British Film Mr Michael Wilding. Lord Rothermere announces that the next award goes to James Mason who is unfortunately in New York but has asked Mr Arthur J. Rank to collect the award on his behalf. CU. Lady Rothermere and Margaret Lockwood with award. Several close up shots of Michael Wilding, Herbert Wilcox, Anna Neagle and Pathe reporter John Parsons chatting - natural sound. Informal chat where the recipients talk about how they feel. They are all very happy. Herbert Wilcox says 'we are a little happy and we had one or two'. Parsons answers 'well why not?' They all laugh and talk about great taste of Champagne.
