    Several shots of Duke walking up onto some scaffolding to lay foundation stone of new wing of Pangbourne Naval College. Duke talks with officials while crowds watch. C/U of inscription of foundation stone reading 'This Stone Was Laid By His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh KG On Founders Day, 27th July, 1953'.

    Duke arrives at 'Big Side' and is piped onto the field. Duke salutes Cadet Guard of Honour then inspects them. He stops to chat to a few of the young men. C/U of young Cadet with a medal - could be JDR Hall (winner of Founder's Medal) or AW FitzRoy (winner of Queen's Medal). Cadets march across field.

    Several shots of cadets doing PT display on field - all in baggy black (Navy?) shorts and white shirts. M/S of Duke in sunglasses watching from stand with Naval officer who is finding it all too, too hilarious. Cadets do hornpipe in white sailor suits.
