GV Cars get away, front 3 positions being taken by Vanwalls. CU man looking through binoculars. GV Moss taking sharp left hand bend, the rest of the field following. SV Two cars flashing past on up-hill slope. LV Moss taking right hand bend, beginning to drift, but he controls it beautifully and sweeps into the sharp left hand bend. LV Schell in No.15 BRM. lying in 2nd place. SV Jean Behra in BRM sweeping round corner. GV Three cars flashing past on road with woods on either side. LV Car coming down straight very fast. LV Pan, Moss laps Luigi Musso, waving as he passes him. GV Moss flashing by. SV Moss laps Godin de Beaufort. SV Moss flashes over the line, the winner. GV Crowd in grandstand. CU Stirling Moss after the race.

    "Schell" is Harry Schell, in his BRM.

    Mike Hawthorn, (No. 5). is driving a Ferrari.

    The race was held on 26 May 1958.

    "Behra" is Jean Behra, in car No. 14.

    "Musso" is Luigi Musso, driving the No. 6 Ferrari.

    NOTE: The clip seems to start late - indeed, the first 4 lines of the shots list are not seen.

    Hhmm. Something obviously went wrong somewhere down the line. We have the film in another digital format and it is also missing the first part. Would be interesting to go back to the original negative for a look.
