The girls, all from the Henry Maynard Primary Girls' School in Waltham Forest, watch their Headmistress, Miss Davidson, bottle-feeding a little badger cub. Various shots show the girls out on a nature trail in Epping Forest with Fred Speakman and teachers. They have a picnic on the grass and examine leaves, deer antlers and skull, the old skin of a grass snake found on the ground. They search for Mesolithic flints in the ground and take a plaster cast of a badger paw print on the ground.
