  • Short Summary

Nice high kick routine performed by "Chita" of Cochran's Revue.

  • Description

"Meet "Chita" the famous dancer from Cochran's Revue - and the kind of figure that Artists (and modern Eves) dream about."

C/U of Chita in a rather fetching sparkly skimpy outfit and top hat. She dances with a cane doing lots of high kicks. It is a very acrobatic and kind of sexy routine! She does one handed cartwheels then bows to the camera. "Suppleness personified - especially when our slow camera takes a turn - " Footage of the routine in slow motion, includes a backwards roll. "Over and over - never losing that easy grace - even when the slow "eye" looks at her." Very graceful acrobatic sequences.

This is the same routine (though cut differently) as appears in 'Chita 1931' ( with the note that that story dooes not include the original music. This act was probably part of C.B. Cochran's Trocadero Cabaret, London. C. B. Cochran established the London Pavilion in Piccadilly Circus as the home of revue. In the 1920s and 1930s the first night of a new Cochran revue was an annual theatrical highlight and a big social occasion.
