Millwall are wearing the all-white strip in this clip. All-white was their home games colour throughout 1968 to 1975, meaning that the location for this clip is Millwall's home ground during this era, namely "The Den", situated on Cold Blow Lane, New Cross, in London.

There are two possible dates for this fixture - it's either 5 April 1971, or 2 October 1971. (Millwall won each of these fixtures 2-1).

That's great. Can anyone say for sure whether it's the April or October game? This sounds like a tricky one!

I was there and can tell you that the goal you see at the end was a header by Derek Possee for Millwall in the last minute from a break down the right after Carlisle lost the ball in the Millwall half with the score 1-1. I was behind the goal having moved from sitting on the concrete pylon to the left. You can see people sitting on there during the game. Players include Harry Cripps and Barry Kitchener, Bryan King and possibly Barry Bridges for Millwall. The lively forward may be Derek Smethurst. For Carlisle, the great Alan Ross in goal, John Gorman, Winstanley at number 5, Balderstone, Dennis Martin, Frank Barton and Bobby Owen. It was a very hot day so I think 1971/72 season but may be wrong.
I remember the goal to this day, I'm a Carlisle fan.
