    After the end of WWII, the German heavy cruiser Prinz Eugen was allocated to the US Navy, and was sailed to Boston in January 1946, with a joint German and American crew. The presence of the American flag in this clip makes me think this MAY be film of this event.

    If that is the case, then one of the two officers shown is likely, (though not certain to be, as I can't find any photos), to be Captain A. H. Graubart. That might well leave the other officer to be the German Commanding Officer, Captain H.J. Reinicke.

    Perhaps someone with more interest and/or knowledge in the Navy or in WWII can confirm or deny this?

    You are absolutely right......and the German officers had the white hat covers removed to distinguish from USA ones!!
