Great story takes us to the east end where Gert and Daisy encourage saving for the war effort.
Titles read: "GERT & DAISY ON WAR SAVINGS".
The popular team of Gert and Daisy (radio entertainers Elsie and Doris Waters) visit a housing estate in East London. They stand surrounded by locals as they joke and explain how to form a local Savings Group - "money for jam!".
They encourage people to join the groups and "lend" their money to the army, navy and RAF. They end with a little song about their cause - "save up all your money and old Hitler we will whack, and save your love and kisses 'til the boys come marching back.
