Track with the cyclists racing. SV. Crowd watching. LV. The finish of the race. CV. Trophies. GV. Cyclist pedalling past with a giant cup showing it to the crowd - Meredith Cup - winner is Alan Jackson. GV. Pennyfarthing bicycles lined up for the start. CV. A rider mounts. GV. Another rider mounts. GV. 88 year old Mr Smallpiece, member of the fellowship of the old-time cyclists, at the beginning of the race being assisted by an official. CV. Crowd watching. LV. End of the pennyfarthing race with riders pedalling like mad. GV. Pan across to crowd applauding. SV. Mr Smallpiece standing with his pennyfarthing bicycle. CV. Mr Smallpiece being questioned about his success as a cyclist. He says (natural sound): "I don't drink and I don't smoke much, I go to bed early and there is no monkey business."

    The events took place on 13 September 1956.

    "Cyclists bunched together at the start of the race" - they're racing for the Cooper Cup.
