King George V's Christmas Speech. He thanks the people for celebrations to mark his 25th silver jubilee, he sends Christmas wishes from Royal Family to all his subjects.
We hear the King's voice over montage of shots of Britain and Empire. We see shots of Big Ben's clock on Westminster Palace in London, church towers, pylons, Sandringham House in Norfolk, BBC Broadcasting House in London, ships, sailors looking through telescopes, We see an elderly couple and daughter listening to radio with headphones in shabby looking country cottage. In contrast we also see a middle class couple listening to wireless in posh looking drawing room. Various shots of railways, bridges, buildings from far flung Empire countries. Various shots of Alexandra Palace in London (exterior and interior). C/U of King, a gilt frame has been superimposed over top.
