Fred Chichi remembers bravery of nurses, Sister Savage (in hospital bed) says she kept up morale of soldiers by leading them in prayer and Tom Hegarty who condemns the Japanese action as cold-blooded.

    The Chief Pantryman described in the text is Ronald "Ron" Moate.

    "Sister Savage" is Sister Ellen Savage.

    "Fred Chichi" should read Fred Chidgey.
