    Surrey Union Foxhounds take time out before the hunt to visit disabled children in Queen's Hospital (for children with hip disease?).

    Actually the dogs are taken there; they don't just go on their own. This shot looks like a weird dream. Children in row of old beds; which are on an outdoor porch - a man in riding habit; holding whip; walks up to porch with a bunch of foxhounds. Children delighted; nurses watch.

    Then shot of men and dogs coming out of building. Men riding horses on road; with the dogs running along. At the side of road; some soldiers or airmen together; and a couple of old men separately; walk by.

    Bizarre, surreal; animals; recreation; hunting; sports; upper-class.

    Alexandra Hospital for Children with Hip Decease was in the village of East Clandon, Surrey. It was a country branch of the Alexandra Hospital in London which later became part of St. Bart's Hospital.

    The film shows the front of the building where in good weather some of the children would be taken out onto the porch like area to enjoy the air etc.

    It closed as a hospital around 1937/38 and became a Children's Home for a number of years before its present use catering for disabled youngsters requiring respite care.
