  • Short Summary

Huge crowds watch carnival / street parade in India.

  • Description

Indian Carnival - Hindu festival parade - exact location unidentified.

Shot from above of parade; w/ large crowd watching various Indian military units marching down street or riding on horseback. Behind the soldiers come 3 elephants w/ large elaborate seats on their backs. More horse guards. While the procession passes; there is a steady stream of people walking or running along behind the spectators.

Large portable shrines are pulled down the street. These have pyramid-shaped roofs like pagodas; statues of gods or goddesses standing like guards on the platforms or sitting like kings inside; feathers; palm leaves; pennants sticking out here & there. Shot looking down at people stopped in street; while one of the wagons carrying these wonders is fixed. Pan up on the splendorous thing. The pullers begin again. 5 or 6 people watching from balcony.

Shot looking down at one of the floats stopped while a row of pullers jump up & down along the edge of it. DS people walk in procession carrying umbrellas; statues; etc.

Note on paperwork reads 'Wyard' - probably cameraman who shot the footage.
