GV Horses lined up for the start with the Russian pacemaker 'Zaryad' ridden by Iovalev on the inside. They start and camera pans with them as 'Tudor Era' strikes the front followed by the other Russian entry 'Garnir' No 10 ridden by N. Nasinov with 'Tharp' of Ireland No 4 ridden by American jockey E. Arcaro on the inside lying third and 'Clem' just behind him. 'Tharp' goes into second position followed by 'Sailor's Guide' No 5. 'Australia' ridden by American jockey Howard Grant, the rest of the field bunched in tight behind as they go up back straight towards the first bend. GV Elevated shot of crowded stand. LV As the horses come round the bend towards the camera they turn the bend into the straight and start to run down the straight. LV As the horses come towards camera down the near straight. It is still 'Tudor Era' by about a length from 'Sailor's Guide' and 'Tharp' with 'Clem' in fourth position on the outside and 'Orsini' of Germany ridden by Lester Piggott making up ground on the inside. Camera pans with them into back view as they begin to go round the bend. GV Crowds. GV As they go up back straight for the second time, it is still 'Tudor Era' from 'Sailor's Guide' (about 11/2 lengths) with 'Tharp' in third position, 'Orsini' fourth, 'Garnier' fifth and 'Ballymoss' begins to make up ground, he passes 'Garnier'. GV Elevated crowded stand. LV As they come down the home straight with 'Tudor Era' out in front, 'Sailor's Guide' in Second position and 'Ballymoss' making a determined effort on the outside. 'Tudor Era' passes the post with 'Sailor's Guide' 31/2 lengths away second and 'Ballymoss' third a neck away from 'Sailor's Guide'. TV Press photographers. TV 'Tudor Era' being led into the unsaddling enclosure. Jockey Harmataz throws his whip to someone out of picture, camera pans with 'Tudor Era' and also brings into picture an attendant who is stuffing Harmataz' whip up back of coat.
