Animation featuring that naughty dog Jerry - this week he gets his own radio set.
Animation featuring Jerry the Troublesome Tyke - a cartoon dog. A U.I.C. production.
We see a cartoon artist sketching at his desk. Closer shot of the paper he is drawing on reveal him to be drawing Jerry. He props Jerry up on the table and wags his finger at him: "Stay there till you're wanted!" reads an intertitle. The artist gets up. Drawing of an urban landscape with radio communication wires stretching across the sky is shown. The wires vibrate. Cut back to Jerry. Words come out of the radio which is standing next to the sketch of Jerry. "Hullo everybody! In one minute you will hear the bedtime stories!" Jerry looks pleased and jumps off the page and into the horn of the radio (it is a funny looking radio that has a small round dial attached to an ornate horn like an old gramophone.) The artist comes back and looks surprised to find no Jerry on the page. He tries to find him. Suddenly from the radio the words: "Hullo Mr Artist! Jerry calling!!" appear. The artist grabs Jerry and pulls him out of the radio. He holds Jerry by the feet - Jerry struggles to try and get away. The artist wags his finger and says: "Will you leave my wireless alone?" Jerry says: "But I want to hear the bedtime stories!" The artist says: "Keep quiet and I'll give you a wireless of your own!"
C/U of Jerry watching the artist draw a wireless with little earphones and an aerial. The artist flips the page so that he can draw the aerial going out of the window outside and being attached to a tree. Jerry says that the radio needs to be "earthed" so the artist draws a long line attaching the radio to the tap in a sink. Jerry puts the earphones on and listens to something. Shot of a cloudy sky. Lightning strikes and causes the wireless to explode. Stars, zigzags, expanding circles etc. suggest the sparks flying and general destruction caused by this event. We see Jerry sitting on the floor in a daze with the room all wrecked around him. The artist looks at the picture and laughs saying: "Hullo, what's happened now?" Jerry says: "I wanted bedtime stories - but they gave me the weather report!!"
