Jerry attempts to rid a house of a ghost.
Animation featuring Jerry the Troublesome Tyke - a cartoon dog. A cartoon curtain rises. A U.I.C. production. A white dot appears on screen which opens out then turns black. Jerry suddenly appears in the middle, first a black blob which changes into the Jerry we know and love. He grabs the side of the circle, pulls it towards him and it changes into a newspaper. He reads it. He sees an advert which says: "Wanted - 100% House Dog Able to tackle anything. Apply 13 Easy Street." Jerry arrives at a house. The door opens, a man pats him on the head and says: "Good Doggie! What can you do?" Jerry does a handstand and walks on his hands. He then bounces along on his tail and spins around like a spinning top. "Got good teeth?" asks the man. C/U of Jerry showing the man his teeth. Jerry says "If it's burglars, TRUST ME!!" The man replies "It aint burglars - it's a GHOST. And you've got to keep him out! Jerry goes into a kennel which is outside the house.
Night falls. An owl sits on the branch of a tree silhouetted against the moon. There is a church in the background, the clock reads midnight. Outside the house a ghost suddenly appears. It flies into the kennel. "G-R-R" - the letters appear outside the kennel. Presumably Jerry is growling at the ghost. Jerry runs out of the kennel. The ghost appears behind him and waves his arms, pulls Jerry's tail, kicks Jerry's backside and disappears. Jerry picks up a spike which is lying on the ground. He points it at the ghost. The ghost laughs. Jerry tries to spike the ghost but he just keeps disappearing. Jerry pulls a sheet off the washing line and puts it over his body - making him look like a spook. He slides under the door of the house.
House interior - the ghost appears in a doorway. Jerry appears through another doorway and says: "HIST!" (whatever that means?!) Jerry holds out a bottle of wine (?) and the real ghost looks pleased. They go into another room. Jerry says "Sh-h" and points into a trunk. The ghost gets in, Jerry throws the bottle in after him and shuts the lid with a bang. The owner of the house wakes up. Jerry starts to move the trunk.
Exterior - Jerry carries the trunk along on his back. He throws it off a bridge into a river, takes off the sheet and goes back to his new owner telling him: "I trapped him in the oak box and chucked him in the river!! The man clutches his head and says - "You toothless fool!! All my money was in that box!" Jerry falls down in a faint. End.
