The car seen here isn't, as currently described, a van, it's a prototype Jowett Bradford CD estate car.
The journey seen in this film was a proving run for the vehicle, which incidentally never made it in to full production.
This particular vehicle was converted to left-hand drive especially for this trip, having previously been right-hand drive.
The car is being driven by Jowett's chief designer, Roy Lunn.
A road sign at 04:46 says "Majola", which is a district in the Swiss canton of Graubunden.

That's really interesting. Any idea why it never made it into full production?

A period photo of this vehicle, Reg. No. HKW 272, in right-hand drive format, can be seen here.....

Correcting my earlier comment, "Majola" should red Maloja.

The end of the shots list describes the "car refuelling at Shell petrol station". This footage is not currently visible here, so presumably the version the cataloguer saw is longer than what we can see here.
