King George VI and Queen Elizabeth visit the Air Transport Auxiliary headquarters.
Titles read: "KING AND QUEEN WITH THE ATA".
Somewhere in Britain.
High angle shots of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth (Queen Mother) arriving at the headquarters of the Air Transport Auxiliary. They meet Miss Pauline Gower who commands the women's branch and Commander D'Erlanger, the Chief of the Service.
As the royals wander about an aircraft hangar and tarmac area, we are told the service delivers aircraft to RAF aerodromes all over the country and that many pilots have flown the Atlantic several times, bringing American bombers to Britain. The King and Queen are driven off in their car while people lining the route wave goodbye.
