    Royalty; British. King George V & Queen Mary Visit West Yorkshire; c. late 1910s; during World War One. Pan over audience of wounded veterans watching some entertainment; laughing. Nurses in first rows. King George V & Queen Mary enter. Shots of King and Queen meeting nurses and soldiers. Pan over crowd outside building; on either side of door. King and Queen exit building followed by group of local VIPs and military officers.

    They pass under banner which reads Hearty Welcome to the King. Outdoor ceremony: pan on platform w/ c. 60-80 people seated; & a large banner above & behind; Welcome to Heckmondwike. Pan on schoolchildren waving flags and cheering. Next; King and Queen with several Army officers; walk past rows of women war workers; some of whom wave handkerchiefs. K & Q meeting local VIPs; at left FG old lady in outlandish feathered hat and brocade cape. Women curtsy to royals. K & Q arrive at some other location; shake more hands. After c. 10 blank; starts again. K & Q arrive in car. Pan on cheering
