Extracts from a stage show - probably "Hassan" starring Henry Mainly and Cathleen Nest.
There is no title extant for this item. Paper records suggest that it is scenes from the play "Hassan" at the Majesty's Theatre.
Stage set. A large chorus kneel and genuflect to a king/holy man/politician? who stands on a balcony. This is the dramatic moment when Hassan (Henry Mainly), discovers that Yams (Cathleen Nest) is a wanton (!) and goes to kill her. Interior of a Middle Eastern palace (presumably). Yams is held by two young servants, her arms outstretched. Hassan stands with his sword - presumably trying to decide whether to kill her. Jump cut - presumably a section is missing - Hassan lies on the floor (perhaps with Yams, it is hard to tell!) Story incomplete - very short.
Note: part of this story features in "This Was Yesterday" and is the missing material from this negative (including the main title).
