Max and Harry Nesbitt sing 'My Baby's Got Red Hair And Freckles' - dupe of PT 23.
Titles read: 'Now PATHETONE has pleasure in introducing another celebrated Variety Turn - Max & Harry Nesbitt.'
Pathe Studio, London.
Max and Harry Nesbitt sing 'My Baby's Got Red Hair And Freckles' - a lively number telling of their girlfriend. Harry (?) Nesbitt plays ukulele and 'scat' sings in parts while Max sings the verse. They stop singing and Harry complains that his "baby keeps me up all night". He then impersonates a baby crying.
They then do a comic impression of 'two American boy scouts'. They put on floppy hats and pull faces. Harry plays ukulele while Max places drumstick against teeth and beats out a rhythm (sounds like sailor's hornpipe). They perform various silly moves and contortions and make marching trumpet / drum noises with their mouths. They end by playing a comic version of 'The Stars & Stripes'.
I love these two! Quintessential late 20s / early 30s entertainers with lots of mugging, waggling hands, bouncing about, silly dance moves and vo-de-oh-do-ing (Compare with The Two Leslies for a later, more sophisticated version!) - SL.
This is duplicate of Pathetone PT 023 - see separate record for details.
