GV of cars at the starting point in Paris. It is raining. Rover No. 209 and driver Ann Hall looking out of window. The cars drive up to the control area. Sign "Entree. Controle". Drivers of 187 a mini, Richard Tilley and C. P. Williams, check their map and sign an autograph. Inside the control area the cars are being examined and the engines sealed. Shot of Mini, 176 driven by Kjallstroe and Haakanson, is the first car to leave Paris. Cars driven past photographers in the rain as the rally starts. Tracking shots through Paris and into the country. GV cars arriving at Figeac check point in the dark. Officials sitting at table check in the drivers. Night activities of drivers at check point, some sleeping, drinking coffee, changing a tyre.

Mountain side near coast and Monte Carlo, the cars make their way round the hairpin bends
no more snow. We see Mini No72, followed by Citroen No75 and Mercedes No53 going round the bends. Mini 72 followed by Mini No16 approach the town. WS of Monte Carlo and the sea, the Royal Palace with canons pointing out to sea, GV's of town.
No 11 the first car to reach Monte Carlo arrives, followed by No 52 a mini and the eventual winner. Officials swarm round the cars, checking the seals and looking under the cars. The drivers are surrounded by press and cameramen. Pat Moss talks to Eric Carlson. More cars arrive and a lot of form filling takes place. Pat Moss and co-driver Elizabeth Nystrom stand by their Saab with a trophy on the bonnet. Children look down from the Palace window, Cups are placed on the winning mini No52 as the drivers pose for the cameras.
