Some harrowing images of a hapless driver at the 40s mark. Do not know his fate.

Believe the material to be from the 1955 Supercortemaggiore, a 1000km race for sportscars. The race was run on 29 May 1955 at Monza, just three days after Alberto Ascari had fatally crashed at that very circuit (notice flag half mast at 23s mark)

There is however another racer Prince Bira ,his real name was Birabongse Bhanudej Banubadh, Prince of Siam . Among other vehicles he raced the 250F Maserati.
