I and my children(at the time) were the people in the film. Now, 50 years later, i have just
reared a batch of the privet hawk caterpillars of the moths adorning my daughter's dress. They are quite striking - three and a half inches long and half an inch thick. They were referred to in the film as bird sized beauties from Borneo !! In fact they are fairly common in the south of England - our largest hawk moth. I wonder where the commentator got his information from ?
