    Reel 2 continued. Some of the men play darts - C/U of the darts board and of the players. C/U of a man fishing off the deck. Another man does some hand washing. He holds up his vest and looks very pleased with himself. C/U of the ship's bell. C/U of the sea. Seagull in the sky. High angle L/S of one crew member works at repainting the deck. Top shot of the men having a lifeboat drill. C/U of the ship's cat peeking out of someone's life jacket. L/S of rescue dingy being thrown over the side to be tested. High angle shot of one of the crew members rowing the boat. L/S of the ship at sea. Dinghy returns to the ship. Various shots of the boat and staff in high seas. Balloon is launched. Waves crash over the bow of the ship. C/Us of radar equipment. C/U Morse code operators. C/U of a piece of equipment. Route being plotted. C/U radio operator. Shot of an aircraft (narrator tells of how they can advise pilots on wind speeds etc.) C/U of crew member speaking into a special telephone. Senior Met Officer works out the wind speeds and phones through the Radio Officer - shots of him on the telephone passing the information through to the Radio Officer. The Radio Officer radios the results through to the aircraft operator by radio telephone. C/U of a message form about bad weather approaching Prestwick Airport. C/U of Morse code operator. C/U of office sign "Met Plotting Office." The captain looks at the chart. The crew decide to contact the aircraft pilot to make sure that he had received the Prestwick report. Various shots of crew members, machines, weather report, clock, etc. Dramatic music on soundtrack. Extreme C/U of man speaking into radio telephone. Drama increases - Morse code operator shakes his head. Extreme C/U of second hand of clock moving around. Jock in the radio room hears a faint signal and gives the thumbs up signal. The aircraft turns away to a clear landing in safety thanks to the Ocean Weather Ship. Shot of the aircraft. C/U of some kind of calendar. At the side of Friday 16th a love heart and glass of beer have been drawn. "XXX is good for you" "Myra: Here I come Luv, Fred" and "Tons of Love Rodney." have all been written below this date. Presumably this is when the crew are due to go on shore leave. Continued.
