The Devon Regiment receive the freedom of the city of Barnstaple. Various shots of soldiers marching through the town with fixed bayonets. The Mayor watches the troops march past with Army officers. Troops carry their regimental colours.
The White Ensign flag of aircraft carrier HMS Indefatigable is presented to the Borough of Holborn. L/S of the flag party, carrying the white Ensign, slowly marching past men of the Indefatigable who stand to attention. L/S of the flag being handed over to Superintendent Rowlerson of the Metropolitan Police. Rowlerson receives the Ensign on behalf of the Borough of Holborn whilst the Mayor and civic officials look on. Rowlerson slow marches with the Ensign into the Town Hall. M/S of officers and ratings of the Indefatigable marching into the Town Hall to sound of Royal Marines' band.
