The Championship was played at Royal St George's Golf Club in Sandwich, Kent.

The event took place over 6-8 July 1949.

Line 1, I can find no record of a golfer called Armitage taking part in the event, so I don't know who that is.

Line 1, "R Rossi" is actually Roberto de Vicenzo.

Line 2, "Padgam" should read Padgham (Alf Padgham).

Line 2, "Stranahan" is Frank Stranahan.

Line 3, "Bulla" is Johnny Bulla.

Line 4, "Daly" is Fred Daly.

Line 6, "van Donck" is Flory van Donck.

Thanks. Does anyone know Armitage or know why we had Roberto de Vicenzo as "R Rossi"?
