The last of ten cartoons in the Pathe Pictorial cartoon competition drawn by the artist Poy.
"£100 in Cash for ten correct solutions - or nearest thereto." reads the title card. "Here is the LAST of 10 cartoons by 'Poy'. Send postcard to Pathe's, Wardour St. London, stating what SONG you consider it represents."
M/S of Poy taking off his jacket and settling down to his drawing. Stop frame animation sequence shows the cartoon magically taking shape from the pen of POY. He draws a young man sitting on the ground holding his head, then another man walking away from him after leaving him with two black eyes. "That's a nasty one!" reads an intertitle.
"There's £100 to the Patron who gives the 10 correctly - or nearest thereto. In event of a tie the £100 will be divided." "In addition to the £100 (divided in event of a tie) six original 'Poy' Cartoons (framed) will be awarded as consolation prizes." "The last date for receiving postcards is June 15th 1921."
Note: we think the answer may be "Two Lovely Black Eyes" - what do you think?!
