Stencil colour material - scenic views of Crater Lake and the landscape which surrounds it.
Crater Lake, Oregon, United States of America. Pathecolor (sic) item - early stencil colour.
"A volcanic cone, now long extinct, forms the setting of Crater Lake in Oregon, one of Nature's rarest scenic gems." Scenic shot of the lake, with mountains beyond. Camera pans across lake to show volcanic type rock in middle and mountains surrounding it. M/S of mountainside with lake in foreground. M/S of lake lapping against the shore. "The placid lake now rests quietly in the teacup-shaped crater which once was a seething cladron of molten rock." [I presume there is a typo in this intertitle - perhaps it should have been "seething cauldron"?] M/S of the lake, water flows away from the camera, perhaps shot from the back of a boat.
M/S of the lake from on board a boat, people seen on the boat in the foreground - probably tourists on a pleasure cruise. Nice colours. M/S of rocky outcrops on shore of the lake. A motor boat is seen in the distance. "Frivolous and paradoxical Nature has transformed a once dreaded spot of death into one of the world's most healthful outdoor playgrounds." High angle shot of the lake, seen from mountainside. Another view of the lake showing its mirror like reflection of mountains beside it. Various other high views. M/S of hikers walking towards the camera and stopping to admire the view. "The pastel grey of volcanic ash contrasted to the vivid blue-green of the water, bring a remote fairyland to the imagination." High angle shot of the lake. More views.
Note: This is an American Pathe Review item. Probably in issue 6/27 which I presume dates the film as 1927.
