Soldier selling badges from tray hanging round his neck as tribute to the wounded.
Tribute to Wounded.
Trafalgar Square, London.
Beside one of the lions in Trafalgar Square we see a soldier with tray hanging from his neck; it contains little pins to be worn to show one's support for the war wounded (or the war). Woman in a furry coat walks up to him and picks up a badge, which the soldier fastens to her coat. She digs change out of a coin purse and pays him.
World War One; Home Front; 1914.
