    Pendine Sands, South Wales

    The car 'Babs' is pushed out of the shed, by a team of helpers and engineers. Its pushed up a slope . Parry Thomas gets in and poses. The cover is taken off to show off the six cylinder engine. One man has Dunlop on his jumper. The press are seen nearby.
    A sequence follows with the speed attempt and the burnt out looking vehicle stationary in the sand. A man shovels sand at the tyres.

    There is a repeat of this sequence , better quality, with 'Babs' hurtling down a slope onto the sands, and speeding along attempting to break the record.

    The driver's full name was John Godfrey Parry-Thomas.

    Parry-Thomas was tragically killed during this record-breaking attempt, on on 3 March 1927. His damaged car is seen at the end of this clip.
