A mini is prepared for a motor rally. Brakes, engine, lights are all tested. The rally cars arrive and depart early morning. Two bagpipers play them on their way. Paddy Hopkirk is driving a mini. Eric Carleson follows in a Saab. After a short drive on country roads, the rally continues "off road" on dirt tracks through a forest. Here there is no speed restriction and the cars hurtle round corners
Back on public roads, a crowd watch the cars depart passed an RAC sign "Rally route Bristol Gloucester". Night driving and a navigator reads his map. At a night check point Tim O'Magnum (sp?) is followed by Eric Carlson and Pat Moss. They drive off into the dark. Good shots of Mini's on mountain roads. At another check point tyres are tested and the cars race round a circuit. A navigator is seen using an electric shaver. After seven days and 2500 miles the rally ends. Cameras and lights and a large crowd as the cars arrive.
A taxi pulls up outside a hospital, and the woman we saw at the opening accident, Gets out and pays off the driver. "She is there because someone else made a mistake" . She enters casualty and a nurse shows along a corridor. She pauses before entering the room.
