Low angle shot of a man standing on a large cylinder at the top of the mast, he turns a wheel at the top to reel in a rope attached to the airship. M/S of the airship 'mooring' the top of the mast. L/S, from ground level, of the airship attached by its nose to the mast. L/S of the radio mast taken from ground level. M/S of the top of the mast.

    Intertitle: "The Shenandoah had been attached to mast for 3 days in 7-day trial to test efficiency of mooring device".

    Intertitle: "Close-ups show cables at top of mast, designed to hold ship snug and fast. (It was not cable, but nose of ship itself that gave way)".

    Intertitle (flash frame): "The relief night-watch, crossing from mast to ship over aerial gangway".

    Intertitle (flash frame): "After her 9-hour fight in darkness and storm, the Shenandoah is safely secured in hangar. Her huge bulk bears a few scars".

    Panning shot along the length of the airship inside the hanger, it has the words, 'U.S. Navy' painted on it.

    Intertitle: "Her crippled nose ..."

    C/U of the ship's nose - the fabric around the tip has been torn, it looks slightly dented. C/U of the hole in the nose.

    Intertitle (flash frame): "The rudders ..."

    Various shots of the rudders - they appear to have been ripped to shreds, the internal frame is visible.

    Intertitle: "The crew - who are receiving congratulations for duty well-done ..."

    M/S of the crew outside the hangar, they appear to be posed for a group photograph and seem in quite high spirits. The crew comprises off officer-types in smart uniforms and less high ranking men in white caps. Note: this item seems to comprise of two versions of the same story run together, only the latter version has intertitles. The 'Shenandoah' is seen again in G 1056 - AIRSHIP'S 8 HOUR FLIGHT. AH 2000.
