This footage is taken from Film ID 1619.03 "War Neuroses Version B Reel 1".
Private Percy A Meek (3/7495, Norfolk Regiment) teaches basket-making at Seale Hayne military hospital to wounded soldiers as part of their occupational therapy treatment. The baskets were used for collecting blackberries.
Several wounded soldiers weave baskets; in a real rustic looking rural location; with small barn or shed in BG; brick building on left. Then pan along a table of men weaving. CU profile on a very young veteran who is weaving at fast speed with great manual dexterity.
Crafts; veterans; World War One.
