    VS of coast - possibly around San Sebastian, Spain. Various shots of fighting - lots of shelling and explosions. VS of Nationalist troops landing on the beaches. VS of people running across the French border. VS of Government / Socialist troops on the move - lots of clenched fist salutes. CU Map showing advance on Toledo. GV Toledo. VS of shelling of of Alcazar Fortress in Toledo. VS of bombers flying overhead and delivering their bombs. VS of the siege. Massive explosion. Fascist forces move in on the Socialists. VS of troops on the move and fighting. Very quickly edited sequence as Nationalist forces advance. General Francisco Franco arrives to see the scene. The devastation is massive. VS of people giving fascist salutes to Franco. CU map showing routes of advance on Madrid. VS of Communist forces in Madrid - parades of people in the streets under hammer and sickle banners.
