The item title tells us that the event this film shows is two days prior to the departure of the last Ottoman Sultan - Mehmed VI Vahideddin) - from Istanbul on 17 November 1922, and therefore claims to show us images from 15 November 1922. However, a closer examination of the footage brings up some more concrete information.
The mosque shown at the beginning (00:13 - 00:25) is not the 'Mosque of St Sophia' (aka Aya Sofya), but in fact is the mosque of Dolmabahçe Palace.
The final 'selaml?k' - the procession of the Sultan to Friday prayers - took place on Friday 10 November 1922, a week before he left for exile. Prayers took place neither in Aya Sofya nor Dolmabahçe, but in the mosque of Y?ld?z Palace. It is down the steps the Y?ld?z Palace mosque that the Sultan can be seen walking (00:25 - 00:34), and it is from this complex that the imperial procession departs (00:35 - 00:41).
