Nice footage of a swimwear designer trying out some new ideas with glamorous girls.

  • Description

Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire. Sent for rewashing - dirt on neg. Will be retransferred.

C/U of a woman's legs as she walks up a small flight of free-standing steps. She stands on top of the steps and the camera pans up her body. She wears a white strapless swimsuit and stands at the top of the steps posing for the camera. She is model "Brenda Mee".

L/S of group of people standing beside tables laden down with rolls of fabric. Designer Major Du Cross (or Du Cros or Ducros?) approaches Brenda with fabric for his latest design "Vice-Versa". It is a reversible swimsuit. The piece of fabric is pinned around Brenda's body. C/U of the fabric being pinned. L/S of Major Du Cross looking at the fabric on the model and making a note on a drawing of the swimsuit. L/S of another model - Patti Morgan - stepping up onto the podium. Major Du Cross approaches her with some green fabric. The models help the designer to visualise the finished garment.

M/S of Herida May wearing an elastic gingham check swimsuit with matching top and bloomer pants. A seamstress pins part of the bloomer pants to the main body of the swimsuit. L/S of Patti holding two types of fabric across her body. Another type of fabric is draped around her. Narrator explains that her costume is called "Confetti" and is deep-boned with slit pockets. It has a side zip fastening. C/U of the fabric, camera tilts up to extreme C/U of the model's face - outrageous make up! Great eyebrows and beauty spot!

L/S of Herida stepping into the matching skirt for her gingham number - the outfit is called "Frivolite". M/S of another model approaching the camera in a blue swimsuit. Patti follows her in a lizard print swimsuit. The straps can be undone and worn across the chest, or fastened around the neck - Patti demonstrates.
