Holidaymakers leave Berlin for their summer break - nice footage of fun in the sun.
Introductory intertitle reads: "One touch of nature makes the whole world kin - One touch of heat and the wheels of transport spin - " High angle shot of a train station. Large crowds of people are trying to get onto the train. Various shots of tourists, holidaymakers, travellers etc. Children lean out of a train window and another child is held up to kiss one of them. A large man takes off his hat and shakes hands with a man leaning out of the train. Painted on the side of the train is the word "Mitropa" and the train is going from Berlin to Dresden. Interior of the train. Two women in aprons and white hats make big pots of tea. We see one of the women cutting a piece of meat. Nice shots of he train leaving the station. Crowds of the platform wave and lots of people on the train lean out and wave. Various shots of people travelling on the station escalators. Train pulls into the station. High angle shot of a crowded beach with a flight of steps in the foreground. Lots and lots of holidaymakers.
"When the big city crowds really begin to enjoy themselves in Germany, they do it thoroughly - " C/U of children playing in the sea. C/U of women applying sun tan lotion. Pleasure boat called "Furst d. Bismarck" passes the camera. Nice shot of a woman and her two daughters having a picnic on the beach. C/U of two girls in sun hats. Low angle shot of a man playing a banjo. Shot of couples dancing in swimsuits. Three young people play a board game in their swimsuits - looks like they are at a camp site. C/U of a bicycle with clothes strewn over it. "Whether "on the Spree" or near the spray, they do it with real zest - " A young woman pours water over an older man's head washing his hair. A young woman does a handstand in the sea whilst others watch. A woman lays spread eagled on the beach sunbathing. A baby sits buried up to its waist in the sand crying - surrounded by young boys (6 or 7 years old) who seem to find this very amusing!
