Narrator introduces "our Northern commentator" - we hear a child's voice talking about jockey Steve Donoghue (quite indistinct, difficult to hear).
M/S of cameramen operating newsreel camera with massive lens - "the world's largest newsreel lens". Various C/Us of Royal Family in their box, taken with special camera: Queen Elizabeth (Queen Mother) laughing and talking to King George VI, Queen Mary, Duke of Gloucester (Prince Henry ) and Duchess of Gloucester, Duke of Kent (Prince George) and Duchess of Kent (Princess Marina). Duchess of Kent is wearing striking pair of sunglasses.
