    Various shots of desert night barrage. Sappers with detectors clear a path through a minefield. British infantry move through the dry, dusty sand. Tanks, trucks, Bren gun carriers and motorbikes move across the desert in the advance.

    Light guns prepare for action. Air to air shots of RAF squadron in attendance, aerial views of the Eighth Army moving forward. Tanks move through desert with explosions going off around them. B 25 bombers in action over the desert. BBC War Correspondent Godfrey Talbot's voice is heard from a broadcast. He talks of the bombing of the retreating enemy forces. Good shot through bomb doors as bombs drop and explode in the sand below. Guns of the 8th Army in action and L/Ss of explosions in the sand.

    Burnt out and wrecked vehicles of the Afrika Korps litter the scene. Allied troops advance on foot through the smoke, past dead German soldiers lying burnt in the sun. German and Italian prisoners are rounded up and brought in. Godfrey Talbot is heard, speaking of the Italian soldiers left in the rear by their German friends.

    Lieutenant General Bernard Montgomery is seen outside his tent with Air Vice Marshal Arthur Coningham. C/U of a map of the Mediterranean area. Various shots of more guns in action and tanks advancing. Aerial view of the 8th Army advancing. More footage of bombs dropping from planes. Tanks move forward through heavy sand. Infantry advance on foot. Commentator says "There's no comeback for Rommel this time; this punch spells victory!" Note: El Alamein is not mentioned but that is where the main Allied offensive started from.
