    Introductory intertitle reads: "Nowadays, everything is on the grand scale. Where once we thought in thousands, nothing less than millions will do today. Ingenious machines flood the world with a myriad volumes."

    "You don't go down the Strand and have a banana.... at the Docks a million are unloaded in a few hours." Low angle shot of a large cargo ship - the word "Jamaica" is painted on the side.
