Northolt Park Racecourse opened in 1929, but was used as an army depot and prisoner of war camp in WW2. Horse racing never returned after the war and new housing - "The Racecourse Estate" (the roads are named after other racecourses) - was built on the site in the early 1950's. The original gates to the racecourse survive across a footpath to the estate, near to Northolt Park Station.
