    GV. Glaxo Research Laboratories, previously home of the musical comedy actress Vesta Tilley and now place where polio vaccines are manufactured. SV. Research Laboratories, pan to GV. of the Polio vaccine labs. The name of the vaccine is Polivirin. SV. Interior, preparation of medium 199 and dispensation into flasks - this is the liquid solution in which the culture is to be prepared. CU. The medium 199 is poured into flask for test purposes. CU. Girl with masked face. CU. Flask being filled. This is the first out of three ingredients of the Polio vaccine.

    Third ingredient of the vaccine is dead Polio virus. SV. Christine Boothroyd injecting tubes with virus dilution and placing sealed tubes into round rack. SV. Placing sealed tubes into rack, Christine gets up and carries rack containing tubes towards the incubation room giving further inoculation to virus. SV. Christine walking into the incubation room carrying the large circular rack containing tubes. She places same with others on hook for revolving, for a seven hour check. CU. Large round rack containing tubes slowly revolving.

    GV. Scientists at work in the blending room, the three cultures which are grown separately and mixed to form the vaccine. CU. Vaccine being blended. SV. Scientists who are working on vaccine in large glass containers, etc. CU. Sealing down a 100 litre steel canister containing the blended vaccine. CU. Hand pressing electric switch. CU. Steel canister containing vaccine slowly revolving. LV. Scientists at work in the blending room.
