This film was shot at RAF Calshot on Tuesday, 9 August 1927. The featured pilots were (from left to right): H M Schofield, O E Worsley, S N Webster, S M Kinkead and L H Slatter (in command of the High Speed Flight).
The team were victorious at Venice on Monday, 26 September 1927 and their successors in the RAF High Speed Flight won the next two contests in 1929 and 1931, thus securing the Schneider Trophy permanently for Great Britain.
Tragically, Flight Lieutenant Samuel Kinkead DSO DSC* DFC* was killed on Monday, 12 March 1928, at Calshot attempting to break the world speed record in his Supermarine-Napier seaplane N221.
