Various jokes are told by means of intertitles and animations. "What is home without a mother...? What is a zoo without a Lion...?" Stop frame animation sequence shows an ink bottle with ink spurting out of it and making a blot. A lion's face appears on the blot. Dissolve into a shot of a real lion in a zoo cage. "...or the genial (!) Tiger?"
A real tiger is shown. "The call of the road isn't half as appealing to Mr Rhino as the call of a meal." Rhino runs towards the camera. C/U of rhino taking food out of a keeper's hand. "Mr Penguin...all dressed up and one place to go." Cartoon drawing of a man in a "penguin suit". He wears a top hat and a monocle. Dissolve into shot of a real penguin running around in a cage. "If faces were fortunes the next member would own a yacht."
C/U of a drawing of an elderly man with a big hook nose. Dissolve into a shot of a hippopotamus. "Did we say "a yacht"? We meant "a fleet"!" Hippo walks away from the camera. "A gentleman who prays on Sunday...and on his neighbours the rest of the week." C/U of a hand as it paints a picture of a posh looking man with long white sideburns and a hooked nose. Dissolve into a shot of a strange looking bird - probably an eagle.
