MV Sir William Lawther speaking. "I should like it to go forth to the world from this Congress that our Trade Unions have found and are using better methods of settling industrial disputes than the use of the strike weapon. Not a little of the industrial trouble we have had recently has been caused by Trade Unionists, who have allowed themselves to become involved in stoppages of work deliberately engineered by Communist agitators. I say to those of our members who have been deceived and misled in regard to the right and wrongs of recent industrial disputes that they are playing into the hands of those who seek to subvert our Trade Union Organisation". Cut in shots of delegates listening.
LV Lawther sits down and applause. GV Audience clapping.
